Exergy uses a wide range of printers with multiple material and colour options to suit specific projects.

3D Printing Technology

There is a wide range of processes and technology available in additive manufacturing. The 3D printers we deploy at Exergy Solutions are identified below.

  • Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) extrudes thermoplastic filaments, such as ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), PLA (Polylactic Acid), through a heated nozzle, melting the material and applying the plastic layer by layer to a build platform.
  • Stereolithography (SLA) uses a laser to cure liquid resin into hardened plastic in a process called photopolymerization.
  • Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) uses a laser to selectively sinter the particles of a polymer powder, fusing them together and building a part layer-by-layer.
  • MultiJet Printing (MJP) is a material jetting printing process that uses piezo printhead technology to deposit materials layer-by-layer.
