    Billy Rideout

    Billy is our head creator, solver, and game-changer. His fixation on making things work better and faster is what sparked the founding of Exergy back in 2015. Today, he leads the Exergy team in strategy and business development, and is known to poke his brain in on exciting new technology we’re creating for clients. Before Exergy, Billy held several leadership roles at Suncor Energy. He advanced new technology development for in-situ oil sands projects and developed process innovations for safety management. Billy holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from UNB.

    Tanner Ball, P.Eng

    Passionate about the energy industry’s pursuit of improved production, reliability and environmental performance, Tanner expertly leads Exergy’s lab and field pilots from design and fabrication through construction and implementation. Leveraging 15 years of experience in mining, extraction, upgrading, tailings and in-situ operations, Tanner focuses on research and development initiatives that will improve the processes and products that keep the industry humming. Before joining Exergy in 2018, Tanner supported project and technology development at Suncor Energy. Tanner holds a Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical from Carleton University and is a member of APEGA.

    Mark Bergmann, P.Eng

    Determined to help the energy industry discover and deploy safe, operable, cost-effective solutions to big challenges, Mark is a leader in providing consistently good outcomes for our clients using agile project delivery. He's committed to progress and supports our clients in designing, building and operating lab and field pilots. With more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry, including nearly 10 years as a project and integration manager at Suncor, Mark has expertise in midstream operations, engineering, fabrication and construction. Mark holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Technology Diploma (Mechanical) from Lakehead University and SAIT and is a member of APEGA.

    Tracy Wilson-Long

    Tracy leads the Business Development and Marketing department, developing and advancing strategic client relationships and partnerships. Leveraging her time spent as a client owner, with over 20 years of International Business Experience, including 17 years with BP, Tracy has expertise in all areas of project and business growth and acceleration, along with in-depth knowledge of developing strategic plans for delivery excellence. Tracy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, and a Master’s in Project Management from George Washington University.

    Ahmed Elshafey, P.Eng

    With nearly 25 years in design, operations and engineering management, Ahmed applies a nuanced understanding of the project life cycle to help our clients improve their processes, procedures and day-to-day practices. Since joining Exergy in 2020, Ahmed has leveraged his experience working for both an engineering contractor and an owner/operator to help our clients navigate their path to progress. Before Exergy, Ahmed supported a range of projects in gas processing, in-situ thermal recovery, power generation and technology evaluation. Ahmed holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a member of APEGA.

    Nermine Sorial, P. Eng, MSc

    Nermine leads Exergy’s consulting team focused on advancing industry’s energy transition goals. She brings analytical rigour and insight that allow clients to identify and action opportunities for sustainable growth in a low carbon economy. Leveraging 20 years of experience developing challenging industrial applications and energy systems, her multidisciplinary expertise in project execution allows Exergy’s clients to uncover optimal solutions and realize timely progress. Nermine holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and MSc in Sustainable Energy Development from the University of Calgary and is an active member of APEGA.
