Exergy's applies novel approaches to technology scaling challenges. Positioned as a bridge between industry needs and technology developers, we design, build, and deploy faster.
Exergy has been providing feedback to the SAIT School of Advanced Digital Technology (SADT) on a new course offering for people curious about or interested in exploring the emerging opportunities, roles and career pathways in the virtual reality industry. The pilot for the Applied Virtual Reality Digital Transformation Bootcamp kicks off on May 3.
“Exergy deploys virtual reality to help our partners to collaborate and reduce travel to sites, improve safety and training programs, and connect people in different locations. Using this technology involves a specialized skill set including CAD experience with logic and coding.
When SAIT approached us about this new course offering, we were excited to offer a perspective from industry,” said digital solutions manager Scott Hunter.
Exergy offered perspectives on the curriculum, hardware and software and how VR can be practically applied for industrial applications.
The ten-week course is delivered online and will provide students with the skills to develop virtual reality experiences — including 3D modelling and animation, design, and client engagement skills — to create a tangible enterprise-ready product portfolio.
“We’re very excited about the VR bootcamp pilot, primarily because we’ve mimicked a real studio training environment, and the student will be learning through the process of working on a real project with product managers,” said Lora Bucsis, manager of digital adoption and training at SAIT’s DX Talent Hub. “This is a pilot for us, and we are hoping to deliver a great experience and iterate quickly based on student feedback and industry consultation from collaborators like Exergy Solutions.”
