We have been operating in Calgary since 2013 and opened our X-Lab in 2019, offering state-of-the-art industrial 3D printers and post-processing solutions, as well as a wireless augmented and virtual reality studio. We work with clients in a variety of sectors including energy, utilities, healthcare, education and manufacturing.

Billy Rideout, P.Eng - President
Billy is a chemical engineer who graduated from the University of New Brunswick. He worked with Suncor for over 17 years in a variety of departments such as design engineering, project management, growth planning and development, process safety, operational excellence, and new technology development. Billy has passion for driving technology improvement to the energy industry and other sectors critical to our economy.
Vicky is a co-owner and founding member of Exergy Solutions. She previously worked as a speech-language pathologist for more than 17 years and served as the president for a not-for-profit francophone preschool organization. Since 2013, Vicky has been pivotal in establishing critical administrative functions of Exergy such as financial systems, human resources, project management applications, work processes implementation, as well as health and safety programs.

Ian is an innovative and profit-driven engineering leader and senior process engineer with 25 years of experience designing, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing oil & gas facilities. He has a history of identifying and developing novel and practical solutions to industry challenges by solving the tough problems, both in operations and projects. He has extensive expertise leading and motivating multi-discipline teams of 5-35 people to create value.
Rodger Bernar, P. Eng
Senior Advisor, Commercial and Technology
Rodger is a business and technology development professional with expertise in strategy, business analysis, customer acquisition and retention, product development and management. He is experienced in commercializing new products and services and skilled in researching and determining new business development opportunities across the energy, power, agriculture and pulp and paper sectors.
David Waldbillig, PhD, MSc
Director, Advanced Manufacturing
Dave is an innovative engineering leader, focused on the practical aspects of research and technology development. He is a detail-oriented materials engineer, with more than ten years experience leading novel materials and coatings research and development projects from initial concept through full-scale manufacturing and commercialization. He is a strategic thinker and is always interested in identifying and developing new business and technology opportunities, partnerships, and applications.
Tanner Ball, P. Eng
Tanner is a mechanical engineer with 11 years of experience in heavy oil extraction and upgrading. A process driven specialist with excellent leadership and team-based skill sets, Tanner has experience in project development, management, and execution as well as upgrader maintenance and operation. He is a self-starting multi-tasker motivated to make a difference.

Scott has 15 years of experience in the energy sector with a focus on 3D laser scanning, virtual reality, augmented reality and CAD systems administration. Scott thrives on diving into cutting-edge digital technologies and creating the value propositions associated with them. Through his passion for innovation and his dedication to the digital 4.0 revolution, he enables Exergy’s partners to capture return on investment of implementing new and emerging technologies.
